Letter from Founder Lindsay Johnson

New Worlds Through Literature provides a vehicle through which individuals, groups, or corporations can gift a carefully curated library of positive literature. The potential to live life well can be guided by knowledge and awareness.  Our libraries provide knowledge and access to knowledge.  Access to, and engagement with, literature facilitates cognitive skills like reading, thinking, learning, remembering, reasoning, and paying attention.

We hope to facilitate cognitive skill sets in children and youth; in addition to, prosocial skill sets like character education, emotional self-regulation, personal boundaries, accountability, communication skills, habits, and inherent in all mankind the use of breath as a regulatory modality. These are critical skills for self-awareness and self-regulation.

Having access to positive thoughts and skill sets is an imperative for children and youth in any society.

Surprisingly, in our developed world, access to certain things remains problematic. New Worlds Through Literature Libraries increase access to literature for a child’s self-development.  Many children and youth in impoverished situations do not own a single book or have access to a library. New Worlds Through Literature libraries provide easy access to books where any child can practice reading, and in the process build important cognitive, social, and emotional skills. To further explore the connection between access to resources and skill development, please see our website at, www.newworldsthroughliterature.com under Science to read about the Science of reading and the necessary exposure to literature needed to achieve reading and development at high levels.

The hope for peace, and vital individuals and communities, is strengthened by self-awareness and self-regulation in the context of virtue. This process of evolutionary development supported by a thoughtfully curated library will increase the consciousness of the reader using The New Worlds Through Literature Library.  These prosocial skill sets demonstrated through literature selections will lift the spirit, the self-esteem, and the consciousness of the individual; and, consequently it elevates the consciousness of the community in which they live.

New Worlds Through Literature Libraries are a sanctuary, a personal space, a space to learn, share, build a dream, a place independent of circumstance where good things are possible.

 With enthusiasm,
